The Waveshare ST-LINK/V2, STM Programmer & Debugger is an advanced in-circuit debugger and programmer designed for the STM8 and STM32 microcontroller families. It facilitates communication with microcontrollers on an application board through the single wire interface module (SWIM) and JTAG/serial wire debugging (SWD) interfaces. For STM8 applications, it connects via a USB full-speed interface to STMicroelectronic’s ST Visual Develop or ST Visual Program software. STM32 applications utilize the same interface to connect with integrated development environments such as Atollic, IAR, Keil, or TASKING.

The device is powered through a USB connector and is compatible with USB 2.0 full-speed interfaces. It includes a USB standard A to mini B cable for connectivity. The SWIM interface supports application voltages ranging from 1.65 V to 5 V and offers both low-speed and high-speed modes. The JTAG interface supports application voltages from 1.65 V to 3.6 V and includes 5 V tolerant inputs. A direct firmware update feature is supported, and a status LED indicates communication with the PC.

The ST-LINK/V2 is compatible with a wide range of STM32 and STM8 microcontrollers, ensuring versatility in various applications. It operates within a temperature range of 0 to 50 C, making it suitable for diverse environments. Note: Ensure the USB driver is correctly installed before connecting the ST-LINK/V2 to the computer.
