The Waveshare NUCLEO-F401RE, STM32F4 Nucleo Board offers an economical and versatile platform for developers to experiment with and prototype using any STM32 microcontroller line. It supports a variety of performance, power consumption, and feature combinations. The board is equipped with Arduino connectivity and ST Morpho headers, facilitating the expansion of its functionality through a wide array of specialized shields.

This development board integrates the ST-LINK/V2-1 debugger/programmer, eliminating the need for a separate probe. It is accompanied by a comprehensive software HAL library and various packaged software examples, providing direct access to mbed online resources. The board supports multiple Integrated Development Environments, including IAR, Keil, and GCC-based IDEs, enhancing its flexibility for developers.

The board’s power supply is adaptable, allowing for USB VBUS or external sources ranging from 3V to 12V.
