The Unitree A2 Robotic Dogis a next-generation quadruped robot engineered for versatility, stability, and performance. Combining industrial-grade design with advanced mobility, it represents one of the most capable robotic platforms in its class. With a compact yet durable frame built from aluminum alloy and high-strength engineering plastics, the A2 is designed to withstand both indoor and outdoor environments, making it ideal for research, inspection, logistics, and a wide range of practical applications.
Equipped with 12 high-performance joint motors powered by low-inertia PMSMs, the A2 delivers up to 180 Nm of torque for dynamic, responsive movement. Its range of motion enables natural, agile walking, climbing, and recovery, even in challenging terrain. The system incorporates dual encoders and industrial-grade bearings, ensuring high precision and long-lasting reliability under heavy use.
The A2 can carry up to 100 kg standing load and sustain 25 kg during continuous walking, demonstrating its strength and endurance. Its dual hot-swappable battery system provides up to 5 hours of runtime unloaded, or 3 hours with load, covering distances of up to 20 km. With advanced perception through LiDAR and an HD camera, it can navigate complex spaces with accuracy while maintaining smooth and stable locomotion.
Connectivity is another strength of the A2, featuring Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB 3.0, Ethernet, and CAN/RS485 interfaces for integration with sensors, external modules, and control systems. It also supports smart OTA upgrades and open secondary development, making it a flexible tool for researchers, developers, and industries looking to expand robotic functionality.
