The Sherline Round Cartridge Spindle ER-16, V Belt is crafted from bar stock steel and features a black oxide finish, providing durability and a sleek appearance. The spindle shaft includes a central hole measuring 10mm, enhancing its versatility for various machining tasks. This model is equipped with an ER-16 spindle and a standard 2-step V belt pulley configuration, making it suitable for a range of industrial applications.

This spindle is designed with lifetime lubricated bearings that offer adjustable preload, ensuring precision and smooth operation. The bearings are Class 5, which contributes to improved accuracy, tighter tolerances, and quieter performance. The headstock bearings are capable of sustaining continuous speeds up to approximately 4,000 RPM, with the possibility of adjusting the preload for speeds up to 10,000 RPM.

The spindle includes a dust cover washer and an ER-16 collet nut, which are essential components for maintaining the spindle’s functionality and longevity. The cartridge is intended to be mounted in a hole with a diameter of 2.250″ to 2.252″, ensuring a secure fit.

Note: The spindle is not designed for high RPM rotation of long or out-of-round parts, and it should not be exposed to coolant baths or excessive dust from grinding operations, as these conditions can significantly reduce bearing life.
