This tall column base is designed to replace the round column base of the Z-axis, providing the same height as the 2000 round column with a riser block. This column base is not compatible with the standard columns on the 5000 or 5400 series mills, ensuring it is tailored for specific mill upgrades. When installed correctly, the step on the boss should face the front of the machine, allowing for an additional inch of Y-axis travel compared to the 2000 column.
