The Sherline Mill X & Y-Axis Backlash Upgrade (“) enhances the precision of milling machines by replacing the older pointer style lock with a refined star gear type lock. This upgrade is designed to minimize backlash, particularly beneficial for CNC applications, by reducing the size of the teeth on the star gear for a tighter fit. It is compatible with Sherline mills manufactured after 1997, offering improved performance by eliminating play from the backlash nut. This upgrade is not compatible with the older pointer lock system due to differing hole centers.
