The Sherline Limit Switch Assembly for 2000, Ballscrew, Y-Axis is a specialized component designed to enhance the functionality of Sherline machines. This assembly includes a limit switch equipped with a pigtail and connector, along with the necessary mounting hardware. It is engineered to integrate seamlessly with Sherline’s proprietary controller board, which is developed in collaboration with MASSO. The software and wiring configurations are unique to Sherline, ensuring optimal performance when used with their machines.
This limit switch assembly is not compatible with standard MASSO boards purchased directly from MASSO, as the configurations differ significantly. The assembly is intended for use with Sherline’s older analog speed control system, which operates through custom software. While the optical encoder may provide accurate RPM readings, it does not allow for spindle motor RPM control via G-code when connected to a standard MASSO board.
For installation, the limit switch mounts and eccentric triggers can be affixed to a Sherline machine, although some retrofitting may be required, such as drilling and tapping additional holes. This assembly is suitable for any controller configured to work with Sherline’s limit switches, ensuring a versatile and adaptable solution for enhancing machine capabilities.
