The Sherline Individual Milling Collet 5/32″ – 5/32 is engineered for use with the Morse #1 internal taper, a standard feature on both the Sherline lathe and vertical mill. This design allows for a superior clamping force compared to WW collets, making it ideal for securely holding miniature size end mills, center drills, and Dremel bits. The collet is particularly effective for tools with shank sizes of 3/16″ or 1/4″, as well as #1 and smaller center drills, and 1/8″ shank Dremel bits. It is essential that the cutting tools used with this collet have a shank size within .001″ of the specified size to ensure optimal performance. The shallow angle of the Morse #1 taper necessitates backing off the drawbolt a few revolutions and tapping it to release the collet from the spindle.
