The Sherline Flanged Cartridge Spindle ER-16 V Belt is a precision-engineered component designed for industrial applications requiring high accuracy and smooth operation. The spindle body is crafted from bar stock steel and finished with a black oxide coating, ensuring durability and resistance to wear. It features a steel spindle shaft with a central hole of 10mm, allowing for versatile use with various materials. This model is equipped with an ER-16 spindle and a standard 2-step V belt pulley configuration, providing flexibility in its application.

The spindle incorporates lifetime lubricated bearings with adjustable preload, classified as Class 5 for enhanced precision and performance. These bearings ensure tighter tolerances, quieter operation, and cooler running temperatures, making the spindle suitable for continuous speeds up to approximately 4,000 RPM. For higher operating speeds, up to 10,000 RPM, a slightly looser preload setting may be required.

Installation of the flanged cartridge spindle is facilitated by its 2.25-inch diameter body, designed to be mounted through a 2.3-inch hole. The spindle is secured using three mounting holes on a 3.1-inch diameter flange, arranged at 120-degree increments. These holes are designed to accommodate 10-32 x 5/8-inch socket head cap screws, which are supplied with the product.

Note: The spindle is intended for light-duty applications and should not be used with long or out-of-round parts at high RPMs. It is not fully sealed against dust and should not be operated in a coolant bath. Proper shielding from coolant spray is recommended to prolong bearing life.
