The Sherline CNC-Ready Single-Axis Manual Machine Slide 13-Inch (Inch) is a precision-engineered tool designed for versatile applications in machining. Constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum, it features a durable black anodized coating, ensuring longevity and resistance to wear. This model is equipped with a 13-inch table, offering a choice between inch or metric leadscrews, which are precision rolled from steel for enhanced accuracy. The leadscrew backlash is adjustable, allowing for precise control and minimizing play during operation.
The dovetailed tables and saddles are fitted with adjustable gibs, further enhancing the precision and stability of the machine. The handwheels, measuring 1-5/8 inches, are graduated in .001-inch increments for inch slides, facilitating meticulous adjustments. This slide is CNC-ready, with mounts compatible with NEMA 23 stepper motors, although it requires the installation of these motors for manual operation.
Mounting options are versatile, with provisions for securing the slide from either the bottom or the top, using the provided angle clamps and socket head cap screws. The machine slide can support a weight capacity of approximately 10 pounds, depending on the distribution and location of the weight on the table. Under heavy use, the slide is expected to maintain its functionality for a duty cycle of 2080 hours, although the anodized coating may begin to show wear over time.
Note: Do not use WD-40 as a lubricant on these slides, as it will remove the anodized coating.
