The Sherline CNC-Ready 2-Axis X/Y Machine Slide 13-Inch – Inch is a precision-engineered component derived from the X/Y base of the Sherline miniature milling machine. This machine slide facilitates movement along two axes, designated as the X-axis and Y-axis, akin to a milling machine. The Y-axis is responsible for moving the table in and out, while the X-axis enables side-to-side movement. When mounted vertically, the X-axis remains the same, but the vertical movement is referred to as the Z-axis.
Constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum, the machine slide is finished with a black anodized coating, ensuring durability and resistance to wear. The slide is available with a table length of 13 inches, and users can choose between inch or metric leadscrew options. The leadscrews are precision rolled from steel, providing reliable and accurate movement, and are designed with adjustable backlash to maintain precision over time.
The machine slide features dovetailed tables and saddles with adjustable gibs, which help eliminate play and ensure smooth operation. The handwheels, measuring 1-5/8 inches, are graduated in .001-inch increments for inch slides, allowing for precise adjustments. Additionally, the slide is equipped with mounts for NEMA 23 stepper motors, facilitating integration with CNC systems.
Note: Do not use WD40 as a lubricant.
