The Seeedstudio Grove Single-Point Infrared Thermometer – MLX90614 DCI w/ 5 FOV is a module that comes with a single-point, medical-grade infrared temperature sensor, known as MLX90614. This sensor is capable of detecting the temperature of objects with a high degree of accuracy. Within the body temperature range, it can be measured with an accuracy of 0.2 C. When measuring the surface temperature of objects at room temperature, it can achieve an accuracy of 0.5 C across a broad range.
The module employs the I2C protocol to gather data from the camera. The sensor’s field of view (FOV) is 5, allowing for precise measurements. The temperature measurement range of this sensor spans from -70 to 380 C, and it operates effectively when the sensor’s Ta value lies between -40 and 85.
This module is designed with a narrow field-of-view (5) to ensure accurate measurements. It also features an I2C Grove interface, which facilitates easy communication with a microcontroller unit (MCU). The refresh rate of this module varies between 0.5 and 64 Hz, and it operates at a voltage of 3.3-5 V, drawing a current of approximately 18 mA.
