The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 IoT Router Carrier Board Mini w/ Metal Cooling Case is an advanced internet expansion board designed for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4. By connecting with a gigabit network card via PCle, it provides two full-speed gigabit network ports, ensuring superior performance, reduced CPU usage, and enhanced stability for prolonged operation compared to USB network cards. Despite its compact dimensions of 55 x 62mm, the board retains the GPIO pin header characteristic of Raspberry Pi, facilitating connections to various actuators, sensors, and smart cooling fans. Additionally, it includes a USB2.0 interface compatible with mobile hard drives, printers, WIFI modules, and LTE modules.

This carrier board supports the OpenWRT open-source router system, enabling it to function as a router after a straightforward setup. It is also compatible with Raspberry OS, Ubuntu Server, and other Raspberry Pi systems. The robust performance of the BCM2711 4-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A72 processor, combined with extensive software support from the Raspberry Pi community, makes this board an excellent foundation for constructing high-performance gateways, smart routers, and home IoT platforms. It can also serve as a mini-NAS, wireless network bridge, or LTE Internet terminal when connected to peripherals.

Note: The board-socket of CM4 is fragile; ensure proper alignment before pressing down and avoid repeated plugging and unplugging. Verify the correct installation direction of the CM4 module before powering up.
