The Raspberry Pi 5 – 2GBrepresents the latest advancement in the Raspberry Pi series, offering a significant leap in performance and functionality. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor operating at 2.4GHz, which provides a 23 increase in CPU performance compared to its predecessor, the Raspberry Pi 4. The device also features an 800MHz VideoCore VII GPU, enhancing graphics performance and supporting dual 4Kp60 display output via HDMI. This makes it suitable for both consumer desktop experiences and industrial applications.

For the first time, the Raspberry Pi 5 is a full-size computer utilizing in-house developed silicon. The RP1 “southbridge” enhances I/O capabilities, significantly improving peripheral performance. The USB bandwidth is more than doubled, facilitating faster data transfer to external drives and peripherals. The device also includes a pair of four-lane 1.5Gbps MIPI transceivers, tripling the total bandwidth for cameras and displays, and supports a single-lane PCI Express 2.0 interface for high-bandwidth peripherals.

The Raspberry Pi 5 is recommended to be powered by a 5V / 5A PD power supply due to its higher power consumption. A case with enhanced passive or active cooling is also advised to ensure optimal performance.
