The Pololu Romi Chassis Kit – Pink offers a versatile foundation for building a mobile robot. This kit comprises essential mechanical components, including two motors, two white wheels, a pink ball caster, and battery contacts, all designed to facilitate the construction of a differential-drive mobile robot platform. The chassis features a diameter of 6.5 inches (165 mm) and includes an integrated battery holder accommodating six AA batteries (not included). The design enables smooth turns and spinning in place, supported by a large fixed rear ball caster, with the option to add a second ball caster at the front. The kit’s components are compatible with 708mm Pololu wheels and Mini Plastic Gearmotors with extended backshafts, which support quadrature encoders for position feedback. The chassis is equipped with numerous general-purpose mounting holes and slots for attaching various electronics, such as microcontrollers, motor drivers, and sensors. The plastic components are available in six colors, either as complete kits or individually for customization or replacement purposes.
