The Pololu Mini Maestro 24-Channel USB Servo Controller (Partial Kit) is a sophisticated device designed to enhance the performance of serial servo controllers. It features a native USB interface and internal scripting control, making it ideal for high-performance applications such as robotics and animatronics. This compact and versatile controller supports three control methods: USB for direct computer connection, TTL serial for embedded systems, and internal scripting for autonomous operations. The channels can be configured as servo outputs, digital outputs, or analog/digital inputs, providing flexibility for various applications.
The device offers precise, high-resolution servo pulses with minimal jitter, ensuring smooth and seamless movements. It supports configurable pulse rates from 1 to 333 Hz, allowing for maximum responsiveness. The controller can store up to approximately 3000 servo positions in its 8 KB internal script memory, enabling automatic playback without the need for an external microcontroller. Additionally, it can be daisy-chained with other Pololu controllers on a single serial line, facilitating complex setups.
A free configuration and control program is available for Windows and Linux, simplifying the process of configuring and testing the device over USB. This program also allows users to create sequences of servo movements and write scripts for complex actions. The partial kit version includes header pins that are not soldered, allowing for customized installations. A USB A to mini-B cable is required for connection to a computer.
