The Pololu Mini Maestro 12-Channel USB Servo Controller (Partial Kit) is a sophisticated device designed to enhance the performance of serial servo controllers. It features a native USB interface and internal scripting control, making it ideal for high-performance applications such as robotics and animatronics. This compact and versatile controller supports three control methods: USB for direct computer connection, TTL serial for embedded systems, and internal scripting for autonomous operations without a host controller.
The device offers precise servo control with a resolution of 0.25s and configurable pulse rates from 1 to 333 Hz, ensuring smooth and seamless movements. It can be configured as servo outputs, digital outputs, or analog/digital inputs, providing flexibility for various applications. The controller’s channels can be used to read sensors and control peripherals directly from a PC, enabling the creation of self-contained animatronic displays that respond to external stimuli.
A free configuration and control program is available for Windows and Linux, allowing users to configure and test the device, create sequences of servo movements, and write scripts stored in the controller. The partial kit version includes header pins that are unsoldered, allowing for customized installations. A USB A to mini-B cable is required for connection to a computer, which is not included in the kit.
