The Phidgets IR Beam Break Proximity Sensor – 15M is an advanced infrared sensor designed to detect the presence of objects by interrupting the infrared light beam between its emitter and receiver. This sensor is capable of functioning effectively with the emitter and receiver positioned up to 15 meters apart, making it suitable for a wide range of applications where long-distance detection is required.

The sensor operates by emitting an infrared beam from the emitter, which is detected by the receiver. When an opaque object obstructs this beam, the sensor is triggered, and the receiver outputs a 5V signal. The emitter is equipped with a green LED that illuminates when powered, while the receiver features a red LED that lights up upon activation, providing clear visual indicators of the sensor’s status.

This device requires a power supply ranging from 10 to 30 volts for both the emitter and receiver. It is constructed from durable nickel-plated brass and is rated IP65, ensuring protection against dust and water ingress. The sensor is designed to operate within a temperature range of -25C to 55C and a humidity range of 35% to 85% RH, making it suitable for various environmental conditions.
