The Orbbec Astra 2 3D Camera is an advanced imaging device released in 2023, succeeding the popular Astra series. This camera employs structured light technology and features Orbbec’s custom ASIC for superior depth processing. It is designed to deliver precise and reliable data, particularly for indoor applications, facilitated by the Orbbec SDK, which simplifies setup and operation.

The camera provides high-quality depth data output within a range of 0.6 meters to 8 meters. It supports a depth resolution of up to 1600×1200 pixels at 30 frames per second and an RGB resolution of up to 1920×1080 pixels at the same frame rate. The device is capable of multi-camera synchronization, enhancing its versatility in complex setups.

The Orbbec Astra 2 is equipped with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and supports data connection and power input via USB 3.0 Type-C. It is designed for efficient power consumption, averaging less than 3 watts. The camera is suitable for operation in environments with temperatures ranging from 0C to 35C and humidity levels between 10% and 95% (non-condensing).
