Its A-frame design, complemented by trusses, provides exceptional stiffness while maintaining an optimal weight balance, ensuring superior performance. A standout feature of the Centurion is its innovative camera mount, which allows for adjustable angles ranging from 10 to 50 degrees. Constructed from 7075 aero-grade aluminum, the mount is designed to keep propellers out of the camera’s view. It is supported along both horizontal and vertical axes to reduce payload resonances, offering increased support as the camera angle is adjusted for higher speeds.
The AeroShell of the Centurion not only provides a unique aesthetic but also plays a crucial role in regulating airflow around the drone. Developed with input from PhD students, the AeroShell ensures efficient air ingress and egress, cooling the electronic speed controllers (ESC) and preventing dirt from entering the electronics. As the drone accelerates, the AeroShell acts as an air divider, directing airflow away from the flat top plate.
Thermal management is further enhanced by the shell’s design, which directs airflow across the electronics to maintain consistent cooling. The O3 Air Unit is equipped with an aluminum heatsink and fan assembly to prevent overheating, even in extreme conditions, ensuring reliable operation.
Efficiency in demanding filming environments is optimized by the Centurion’s quick-release battery system. This system, which uses battery straps and carbon plates, allows for rapid battery swaps without the need for individual tie-downs, significantly enhancing productivity by enabling swift returns to flight.
