The Eclypse Z7 W/ Zmods ADC & DAC is engineered to facilitate the swift prototyping and development of embedded measurement systems. It incorporates high-speed Zmod ports for modular expansion and is powered by a Xilinx Zynq-7020 SoC, offering a blend of speed and flexibility. This configuration significantly reduces the development time for engineers and researchers working on advanced high-speed instrumentation, control, and measurement systems, particularly in edge-computing, medical, and communications sectors.
The Zynq-7000 APSoC at the core of the Eclypse Z7 features a dual-core Cortex-A9 processor operating at 667 MHz, complemented by a DDR3L memory controller. It supports high-bandwidth peripheral controllers such as 1G Ethernet and USB 2.0, alongside low-bandwidth controllers like SPI, UART, CAN, and I2C. The device is programmable via JTAG, Quad-SPI flash, and microSD card, with programmable logic akin to the Artix-7 FPGA.
Memory capabilities include 1 GiB DDR3L with a 32-bit bus and 16 MB Quad-SPI Flash, which includes a factory-programmed globally unique identifier. The board is powered by an external 12V 5A supply, with a platform MCU managing power supply configurations and temperature.
Connectivity options are robust, featuring Gigabit Ethernet PHY, USB-JTAG programming circuitry, and a USB-UART bridge. The USB micro AB port supports USB 2.0 PHY with Host/Device/OTG capabilities. The Zmod ports adhere to the SYZYGY Standard interface, compatible with various SYZYGY pods, and support a range of applications with dedicated differential clocks and multiple I/O configurations.
Additional features include Pmod ports with high-speed voltage translation and protection circuitry, as well as user GPIO with push-buttons and RGB LEDs, enhancing the board’s versatility for various development needs.
