The Arducam 12MP IMX477 Motorized Focus HQ Camera for Raspberry Pi features an integrated motor for software-controlled focus, offering a more intelligent and remote way to manage the cameras focus without manual adjustment. The camera module is designed to work seamlessly with the Raspberry Pi, requiring no additional drivers for installation. It utilizes Python and OpenCV software, allowing users to adjust the focus with simple keyboard commands. The camera module is equipped with a 12MP sensor and supports various video modes, ensuring high-resolution imaging for a wide range of applications.
This camera module is ideal for projects that require precise focus control, such as DSLR camera control, remote viewing cameras, time-lapse machines, security systems, smart video doorbells, face recognition, and instant camera functionalities. The motorized focus feature enhances the cameras usability by enabling fine-tuning through keyboard arrow keys or automated focus adjustments using OpenCV examples. The focus motor is controlled via the cameras I2C interface, providing a user-friendly experience for developers and hobbyists alike.
Please note that the Raspberry Pi board is not included with the camera module. Additionally, it is advised not to replace the default lens on the camera module without consulting the manufacturer, as this may affect the modules performance and compatibility. The camera module supports a 4-lane connection in hardware; however, additional customization may be required for full functionality, as standard Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano/Xavier NX platforms do not support a 4-lane CSI connection. Furthermore, the performance of the 4-lane connection is contingent upon the capabilities of the platform itself.
