The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 Stage – 22.67:1 Ratio, StageB 2 Stage – 16.37:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is designed with robust materials, including AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear, which provides added strength and lubricity compared to previous models.
The EVO Shifter features a pneumatic shift method powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enabling seamless gear changes even under varying conditions such as acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox allows users to independently select high and low gear ratios, providing customization options not confined to preset spreads. Additionally, the gearbox includes aggressive weight reduction features and is equipped with a US Digital E4T encoder, enhancing its functionality and adaptability.
The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not pre-installed. It is designed for easy integration with existing systems, including mounting to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. The gearbox requires proper greasing for optimal operation, with a recommended break-in period to ensure smooth performance. The encoder ratio for the two-stage version is 3:1, facilitating precise control and monitoring.
Note: Ensure proper installation of pinion gears, especially when using a NEO motor, as a 3-ton arbor press is required due to the interference fit. Follow the NEO Press Fit Pinion Guide for safety and optimal performance.
