The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 – 22.67:1 Ratio, StageB 2 – 10.86:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient operation. It accommodates motor input from two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Significant enhancements have been incorporated into the EVO Shifter, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage features 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users have the liberty to select independent high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports various encoder options, enhancing its adaptability.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that allows shifting while a robot is in motion. The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes. The gearbox’s weight ranges from 2.9 to 3.5 pounds, depending on the stage configuration.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for a break-in period before applying grease to the spur gears periodically.
