The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 – 18.71:1 Ratio, StageB 2 – 06.86:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates a refined 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Several enhancements distinguish this model from its predecessors. The dog gear, crafted from AMPCO 18 Bronze, provides increased strength and lubricity, facilitating smoother shifts. A robust shoulder screw and a new shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing contribute to the gearbox’s durability. The input stage employs 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users can independently select high and low ratios, with the option to swap ratios as needed, enhancing adaptability.
The EVO Shifter also features a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for reliable operation even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox’s design includes aggressive weight reduction features, ensuring efficiency without compromising strength. It is compatible with various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T, and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for initial wear-in, followed by periodic application of grease to the spur gears.
