The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 – 10.86:1 Ratio, StageB 2 – 22.67:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, providing flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which offers enhanced strength and lubricity. The new shift block assembly features a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, contributing to the gearbox’s durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction. Users have the freedom to independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports various encoder options, enhancing its adaptability.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that allows shifting while a robot is in motion. This feature ensures continued operation even if air pressure is lost. The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, making it versatile for different applications.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for initial wear-in before applying grease to the spur gears periodically.
