The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 – 10.86:1 Ratio, StageB 2 – 06.00:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is designed with robust materials, including AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear, which provides added lubricity and strength compared to previous models. The transmission is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
The EVO Shifter features a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that enables shifting while a robot is in motion. This design ensures that the robot can continue operating even if air pressure is lost, defaulting to the selected “Ratio A.” The gearbox allows users to independently select high and low ratios, providing customization options not confined to preset spreads. Additionally, the gearbox includes aggressive weight reduction features and is compatible with various encoder options, enhancing its adaptability for different applications.
The gearbox requires proper greasing for optimal operation and longevity. A break-in period is recommended before applying grease to ensure smooth operation. The gearbox’s design facilitates easy assembly and disassembly, with features that prevent incorrect gear orientation. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes, further enhancing its versatility in various setups.
