The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 – 07.56:1 Ratio, StageB 2 – 06.00:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Several improvements distinguish this model from previous iterations. The dog gear now features four dogs on each face, enhancing strength and durability. The use of AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear material provides added lubricity, ensuring smoother operation. A robust shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing further enhances the gearbox’s reliability. The input stage employs 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users have the liberty to select independent high and low ratios, allowing for tailored performance adjustments.
The gearbox also features aggressive weight reduction techniques, with machined gears and plates to minimize mass without compromising strength. The cluster gears are designed for easy assembly, with identical features on both sides, eliminating concerns about correct orientation during assembly. An optional third stage provides additional ratio choices, further expanding the gearbox’s versatility. The pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allows for seamless shifting even under varying operational conditions.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for initial wear-in, followed by periodic application of grease to the spur gears.
