The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 32.74:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 Stage – 09.54:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates a refined 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
This model features several enhancements over previous iterations, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which offers enhanced lubricity and strength. The shift block assembly has been fortified with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction. Users have the flexibility to select their preferred high and low ratios, with the option to interchange them as needed. The gearbox also supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enabling gear shifts during acceleration, pushing, or deceleration. The gearbox is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, with features that ensure correct gear orientation. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
Note: Ensure proper greasing of the gearbox for optimal performance and longevity. A break-in period of 30 minutes without grease is recommended before applying grease to the spur gears. No grease is required on the AMPCO bronze dog gear.
