The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 21.72:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 – 12.00:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not included.
The design improvements include a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity and strength. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, ensuring durability. The input stage features 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users have the autonomy to select their high and low ratios independently, with the option to swap ratios as needed.
The gearbox also supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T encoder. It features aggressive weight reduction techniques and cluster gears designed for easy assembly. An optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice. The pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allows for seamless shifting even under dynamic conditions such as acceleration or deceleration.
The gearbox is designed for easy integration with existing systems, using mounting plate holes compatible with an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. It is essential to apply grease periodically for optimal operation and longevity. The gearbox’s encoder ratio is 3:1 on two-stage versions, ensuring precise control and feedback during operation.
