The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 12.41:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 – 18.71:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
The EVO Shifter features several improvements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users can independently select high and low gear ratios and swap them as needed, enhancing customization.
The gearbox also supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder. Weight reduction features have been integrated into the gears and plates, and the cluster gears are designed for easy assembly. An optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice. The pneumatic shift method employs a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enabling shifts during acceleration, pushing, or deceleration.
