The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 12.00:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 – 09.54:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Notable improvements in this model include a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear crafted from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides enhanced strength and lubricity compared to previous stainless steel designs. The shift block assembly has been fortified with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, ensuring durability. The input stage employs 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users have the liberty to independently select high and low ratios, with the option to swap between them as needed.
The gearbox features aggressive weight reduction techniques and is designed for easy assembly, with cluster gears that have identical features on both sides. An optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice. The pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allows for shifting even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is compatible with various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for initial wear-in, followed by periodic application of grease to the spur gears. No grease is required on the AMPCO bronze dog gear.
