The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 09.54:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 – 45.33:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including the use of AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear, which provides increased strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly has been reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, enhancing durability. The input stage features 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users have the autonomy to select their preferred high and low ratios, with the option to swap ratios as needed.
The gearbox also supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T, and features aggressive weight reduction through machined gears and plates. The pneumatic shift method employs a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allowing shifts to occur even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is designed to be mounted on an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, utilizing existing mounting plate holes.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for initial wear-in before applying grease to the spur gears periodically.
