The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 09.54:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 – 12.00:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes, building on the legacy of previous models such as the AM Shifter, Super Shifter, and Sonic Shifter. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox employs an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for smooth and reliable operation. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
The design incorporates several improvements over earlier models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity and strength. The gearbox features a super-strong shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, enhancing durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users have the ability to independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T.
The EVO Shifter is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and allows for easy assembly and disassembly due to the consistent features on both sides of the cluster gears. An optional third stage offers additional ratio choices, further enhancing its versatility. The gearbox employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for seamless shifting even under dynamic conditions. The gearbox is compatible with existing mounting plate holes, facilitating installation on an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame.
Note: Ensure proper greasing and break-in procedures are followed for optimal performance and longevity of the gearbox.
