The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 06.86:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 – 12.41:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed to accommodate two CIM or NEO motors, offering flexibility in motor input. The gearbox can be configured with either two or three interior stages, providing users with the ability to select various output shaft options. The design incorporates a robust 4-tooth dog shifting method, enhancing the strength and reliability of the transmission.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including the use of AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear, which offers enhanced lubricity and strength. The shift block assembly has been upgraded with a larger bearing and a threaded steel housing, contributing to the overall durability of the gearbox. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, allowing for a high first stage reduction. Users have the flexibility to independently select high and low gear ratios, and the gearbox supports multiple encoder options, including the US Digital E4T.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for seamless shifting during acceleration, pushing, or deceleration. The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features, making it suitable for mounting on an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed, even if included in the order. Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation, with a recommended break-in period before applying grease to ensure smooth performance.
