The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 06.86:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 – 05.45:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It accommodates motor inputs from two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed, even if included in the order.
The EVO Shifter incorporates several enhancements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity and strength. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, ensuring durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios, allowing for tailored performance adjustments.
The gearbox features aggressive weight reduction through machined gears and plates, and the cluster gears are designed for easy assembly without concern for orientation. An optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice. The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for reliable operation even during acceleration or deceleration.
The gearbox is compatible with various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T, and is designed for easy integration with existing mounting plate holes on an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. The included 15 Tooth 32DP pinion gear is designed for an interference fit, requiring specific installation procedures for optimal performance. Proper greasing and a break-in period are recommended to ensure smooth operation and longevity of the gearbox components.
