The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 21.72:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 Stage – 15.11:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It accommodates motor inputs from two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed, even if included in the order.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides enhanced strength and lubricity. The gearbox features a super-strong shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, contributing to its durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports more encoder options, such as the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder.
The EVO Shifter is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. It employs a pneumatic shift method powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allowing for shifting even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox’s design ensures that users can disassemble and reassemble it without concern for gear orientation, thanks to the uniform features surrounding the bore on all cluster gears.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for the gearbox’s operation and longevity. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease to allow the gear teeth to wear in before applying grease periodically to the spur gears.
