The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 18.71:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 Stage – 25.91:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It accommodates motor inputs from two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed, even if included in the order.
The EVO Shifter incorporates several enhancements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity for smoother shifting. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, contributing to its durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users have the liberty to independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports swapping ratios as needed.
The gearbox features aggressive weight reduction techniques and is compatible with various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T. It is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, with cluster gears that maintain consistent features on both sides. An optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice, enhancing its adaptability. The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, which allows for shifting even during acceleration or deceleration.
The gearbox is engineered for use with an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, utilizing existing mounting plate holes. It is essential to apply grease periodically to ensure smooth operation, although the AMPCO bronze dog gear does not require greasing. The gearbox’s encoder ratio is 3:1 on two-stage versions, facilitating precise control and performance.
