The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 15.11:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 Stage – 09.54:1 Ratio 2:1 is an advanced shifting transmission gearbox designed for high-performance applications. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates a refined 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors, and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Significant enhancements have been integrated into the EVO Shifter, distinguishing it from previous models. The dog gear now features four dogs on each face, enhancing the structural integrity around the dog gear screw. The use of AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear material provides similar strength to stainless steel while offering improved lubricity for smoother shifting. The shift block assembly has been reinforced with a larger bearing and a threaded steel housing. The input stage employs 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction. Users have the autonomy to select their high and low gear ratios independently, with the option to interchange ratios as needed.
The gearbox supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder. Weight reduction features have been meticulously machined into the gears and plates, ensuring efficient performance without compromising strength. The gearbox can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
The EVO Shifter utilizes a pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enabling gear shifts during acceleration, pushing, or deceleration. This design ensures continued operation in Ratio A even if air pressure is lost. Proper maintenance, including a break-in period and regular greasing, is essential for optimal performance and longevity of the gearbox.
