The AndyMark EVO Shifter AM14U Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 12.41:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 Stage – 25.90:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It accommodates two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
The EVO Shifter incorporates several enhancements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity for smoother shifting. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users can independently select high and low ratios, with the option to swap between them as needed. The gearbox also supports various encoder options, enhancing its adaptability.
The design includes aggressive weight reduction features and cluster gears that facilitate easy assembly. An optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice. The gearbox employs a pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, which allows shifting even during acceleration or deceleration. The EVO Shifter is compatible with an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, utilizing existing mounting plate holes.
