The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Hex Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 08.63:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 Stage – 25.90:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and the use of AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear, which enhances strength and lubricity. The gearbox features a super-strong shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, providing a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users can independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for reliable performance during acceleration, pushing, or deceleration. The gearbox is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, with cluster gears featuring identical characteristics on both sides. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes. The weight of the gearbox ranges from 2.9 to 3.5 pounds, depending on the configuration.
Note: Ensure proper greasing with Red Tacky Grease for optimal operation and longevity, and follow recommended procedures for pinion installation if using a NEO motor.
