The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Hex Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 06.86:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 Stage – 05.45:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is designed with robust materials, including AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear, which provides increased strength and lubricity compared to previous models.
The EVO Shifter features a super-strong shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, ensuring durability and reliability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users have the ability to independently select high and low ratios, providing customization options for various applications. The gearbox also includes aggressive weight reduction features and is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, with cluster gears that have identical features on both sides.
This gearbox employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that allows for shifting while a robot is in motion. The gearbox can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, offering versatility in installation. The EVO Shifter is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed, even if included in the order. It is recommended to follow specific greasing and break-in procedures to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the gearbox.
Note: Ensure proper handling and installation of the pinion gear, especially when using a NEO motor, as a 3-ton arbor press is required for installation due to the interference fit.
