The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Hex Shaft, StageA 2 Stage – 22.67:1 Ratio, StageB 2 Stage – 07.56:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Several improvements distinguish this model from previous iterations. The dog gear now features four dogs on each face, enhancing the strength and durability of the design. The use of AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear material provides added lubricity, ensuring smooth operation. A robust shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing is included, contributing to the gearbox’s overall resilience. The input stage employs 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users have the autonomy to select their preferred high and low ratios, with the option to swap ratios as needed.
The EVO Shifter also offers a variety of encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder. Weight reduction features have been meticulously integrated into the gears and plates, and the cluster gears are designed for straightforward assembly. An optional third stage provides additional ratio choices, and the gearbox can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. The pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allows for shifting even during acceleration or deceleration.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for initial wear-in before applying grease to the spur gears periodically.
