The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Hex Shaft, StageA 2 Stage – 22.67:1 Ratio, StageB 2 Stage – 06.66:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates a refined 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is designed with mounting plates for two motors and is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Enhancements in this model include a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear crafted from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides enhanced strength and lubricity compared to previous stainless steel designs. The shift block assembly has been fortified with a larger bearing and a threaded steel housing, ensuring durability. The input stage features 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users have the autonomy to select their preferred high and low ratios, with the option to interchange them as needed.
The gearbox also supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T, and features aggressive weight reduction techniques. The cluster gears are designed for easy assembly and disassembly without concern for orientation. An optional third stage offers additional ratio choices, enhancing the gearbox’s versatility. The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that allows for shifting even during acceleration or deceleration.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease initially to allow the gear teeth to wear in, followed by periodic application of grease to the spur gears.
