The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Hex Shaft, StageA 2 Stage – 16.37:1 Ratio, StageB 2 Stage – 10.86:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Notable improvements include a robust design featuring a 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides increased strength and lubricity compared to previous stainless steel designs. The gearbox also includes a super-strong shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios, enhancing customization options.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for reliable performance during acceleration, pushing, or deceleration. The gearbox is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, with cluster gears featuring identical bore-side features to eliminate orientation concerns. It is compatible with an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, using existing mounting plate holes.
The gearbox supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder. Aggressive weight reduction features have been incorporated into the gears and plates, optimizing performance without compromising strength. The gearbox’s encoder ratio is 3:1 on two-stage versions, and it includes shielded, flanged ball bearings and 4140 steel output shafts.
