The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Hex Shaft, StageA 2 Stage – 07.56:1 Ratio, StageB 2 Stage – 22.67:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and the use of AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear, which enhances strength and lubricity. The gearbox features a super-strong shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allowing for gear shifts even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. The two-stage version weighs between 2.9 to 3.2 pounds, while the three-stage version weighs 3.5 pounds.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for initial wear-in before applying grease to the spur gears periodically.
