The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Hex Shaft, StageA 2 Stage – 06.00:1 Ratio, StageB 2 Stage – 07.56:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates a refined 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is designed with mounting plates for two motors and is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
The EVO Shifter features several enhancements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides increased strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, ensuring durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users have the freedom to select independent high and low gear ratios, and the gearbox supports additional encoder options, such as the US Digital E4T and CTRE SRX mag encoder.
The gearbox is engineered with aggressive weight reduction features and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. It employs a pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, which allows for gear shifting even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox’s weight ranges from 2.9 to 3.5 pounds, depending on the stage configuration.
The EVO Shifter includes a 15 Tooth 32DP pinion gear and requires specific procedures for installation, particularly when using a NEO motor. Proper greasing and a break-in period are recommended for optimal performance and longevity. The encoder ratio for two-stage versions is 3:1, facilitating precise control and feedback during operation. The gearbox is constructed with high-quality materials, including 1117 steel and 4140 steel gears, and features pocketed aluminum side plates for added strength and reduced weight.
