The AndyMark EVO Shifter AM14U Family Hex Shaft, Stage A 2 Stage – 16.37:1 Ratio, Stage B 2 Stage – 04.77:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection.
The gearbox features several improvements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides increased strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly has been reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, enhancing durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users can independently select high and low ratios, allowing for customizable performance.
The EVO Shifter is equipped with a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for reliable operation even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, with cluster gears featuring identical characteristics on both sides. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, providing versatility in application.
Additional features include aggressive weight reduction, a variety of encoder options, and the ability to add an optional third stage for further ratio customization. The gearbox is shipped assembled, excluding motors, and requires the application of Red Tacky Grease for optimal performance and longevity. The encoder ratio for two-stage versions is 3:1, ensuring precise control and feedback during operation.
