The Waveshare USB Blaster V2 Download Cable is a sophisticated interface tool designed for seamless communication between a host computer and an Altera FPGA mounted on a printed circuit board. This cable facilitates the transfer of configuration data from a PC to a standard 10-pin header connected to the FPGA, making it an essential component for both prototyping and production programming. It is compatible with a wide range of Altera FPGA/CPLD devices, active serial configuration devices, and enhanced configuration devices, supporting AS, PS, and JTAG download modes.

This high-performance cable employs a high-speed FT245+CPLD+244 solution, offering download speeds up to three times faster than alternative schemes. It supports a programming voltage range of 1.2-5V and is compatible with the Nios II embedded processor for communication and debugging purposes. The cable is designed to work with the Quartus II, NIOS II IDE, and NIOS II EDS integrated development environments, ensuring broad software compatibility.

The USB Blaster V2 connects to a computer via a USB 2.0 interface and to the target board through JTAG, AS, and PS interfaces. It features a red LED power indicator and a green LED signal indicator, which illuminates during downloading or programming operations.
