The Waveshare NUCLEO-F446RE STM32F4 Nucleo Board offers a cost-effective and adaptable platform for users to experiment with innovative concepts and develop prototypes using any STM32 microcontroller series. It features Arduino connectivity support and ST Morpho headers, facilitating the expansion of the STM32 Nucleo open development platform’s capabilities through a diverse selection of specialized shields. The board integrates the ST-LINK/V2-1 debugger and programmer, eliminating the need for a separate probe. Additionally, it is equipped with the STM32 comprehensive software HAL library and various packaged software examples, providing direct access to mbed online resources.

This development board is mbed-enabled and supports a wide range of Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), including IAR, Keil, and GCC-based IDEs. It includes a selection-mode switch, allowing the kit to function as a standalone ST-LINK/V2-1. The board’s power supply is flexible, accommodating USB VBUS or an external source. It also features power management access points, three LEDs for USB communication, user interaction, and power indication, as well as two push buttons for user and reset functions.

The board’s USB re-enumeration capability supports three different interfaces: Virtual Com port, Mass storage, and Debug port, enhancing its versatility for various applications.
